Beer Darts
One kit. Endless games.
Chairs: Lawn chairs, buckets, or any seat placed about 8 to 10 feet apart, facing each other (2 player) or made in a large circle.
Optional Protection: Pieces of plywood or rubber mats placed in front of each chair to protect legs and act as a backstop.
Darts: Standard metal-tipped darts (usually one per player unless playing in a big group, then one to two darts are shared).
Beer: Full aluminum cans of beer placed on the ground between the players' feet (shaken or lightly cracked depending on house rules).
Basic Rules
Remain Seated: Players must stay sitting in their chairs while throwing at all times.
Taking Turns: Players take turns throwing darts at the target beer on the opposite side.
No Neighbors: Players that are directly next to you (when playing in a large group of 5 or more) are off limits for taking shots at.
The Dink (Metal-on-Metal): If a dart hits the can with a bounce or clink but causes no leaks, the owner of the can takes a small sip or 1-ounce drink.
The Puncture (Leak): If the dart punctures a hole in the can, the owner must drink or chug from the can until the leaking stops, or finish the contents down to the level of the hole.
The Killshot/Spout Hit: Landing a dart directly into the top opening (mouth-hole/above the rim) usually results in immediate elimination or forces the owner to finish the entire drink.
Losing the Game: Play continues until a player finishes a set number of beers (commonly 3 beers), with the first to reach that limit losing the match.
