BS
One kit. Endless games.
Setup and Deal
Remove all jokers from the deck.
Shuffle the cards well.
Deal all the cards out as evenly as possible to the players. Some players may end up with one more card than others, which is fine.
Players keep their hands hidden.
The player who holds the Ace of Spades (or the dealer's left, depending on house rules) goes first.
How to Play
Follow sequential rank: Play moves clockwise. The first player must play Aces, the next plays Twos, then Threes, and so on up to Kings, after which the rotation loops back to Aces.
Place cards face down: On your turn, place one or more cards face down in the center of the table.
Announce your play: Say out loud how many cards you are playing and the rank you are supposed to be playing (for example, "two threes").
Bluff when needed: You do not have to play cards of the actual required rank. If it is your turn to play Fours and you have none, you can lay down completely different numbers and pretend they are Fours.
Calling "BS"
Challenge a player: If you think the active player is lying about the cards they just placed, you can shout "BS!" (or "Cheat!"). You must do this before the next player takes their turn.
Reveal the cards: Flip over only the cards from the most recent play to check them.
Resolve the pile:
- If the player was lying (bluffing), they must pick up the entire center discard pile and add it to their hand.
- If the player told the truth (was honest), the challenger who called BS must pick up the entire center discard pile.
The game continues clockwise until one player successfully discards their very last card.
That first person to empty their hand wins the game.
