Race Game
One kit. Endless games.
Setup
The Horses: Remove the four Aces from the deck and place them face-up in a vertical column to represent the starting gate.
The Racetrack (Links): Shuffle the remaining deck and lay out a horizontal row of 7 face-up cards (perpendicular to the Aces to form an "L" shape). If 5 or more cards in this row share the same suit, gather them, reshuffle, and redealt.
The Announcer: Choose one player to act as the announcer/dealer. They do not bet; instead, they manage the deck and narrate the race.
Odds & Betting: The announcer sets odds based on how many matching suit cards appear in the 7-card horizontal track for each Ace:
-
0 cards =
1:1(Even) -
1 card =
2:1 -
2 cards =
3:1 -
3 cards =
5:1 -
4 cards =
10:1
Players place their bets (using chips, points, or drinks) on which Ace/suit will win.
How to Play
Draw Cards: The announcer flips cards one by one from the top of the remaining face-down deck.
Move the Horses: Whichever suit is flipped (Hearts, Diamonds, Clubs, or Spades), the matching Ace moves one space forward along its track.
Passing a Milestone: Whenever the leading horse(s) pass a milestone corresponding to the horizontal track cards, a checkpoint is "reached," or the announcer turns a track card sideways/flips it depending on house rules.
Winning the Race: The first Ace to completely clear the 7-card track (and cross the finish line) wins the race.
Scoring / Payouts
Players who bet on the winning horse get their original stake back plus winnings paid out according to the agreed odds.
Losing bets are collected by the dealer/bank.
