Ride the Bus
One kit. Endless games.
Phase 1: The Four Guessing Rounds
The dealer gives each player four cards face-down, one at a time, asking each player a prediction question per card. If a guess is wrong, the player must drink.
Red or Black? Guess if your first card is red or black.
Higher or Lower? Guess if your second card is higher or lower in value than your first card.
Inside or Outside? Guess if your third card’s value falls in between the first two cards or outside of them.
Guess the Suit: Guess the exact suit (hearts, diamonds, spades, or clubs) of your fourth card.
Phase 2: The Pyramid
The dealer builds a pyramid face-down on the table (typically 5 cards on the bottom row, 4 on the next, down to 1 at the top, making 15 cards total, though a 6-card base is also common).
The dealer flips the pyramid cards over one by one, starting from the bottom row and moving to the top.
If a player holds a card in their hand that matches the rank of the flipped pyramid card, they can "play" it and force another player to drink.
The drink value scales with the row: matching cards on the bottom row are usually worth 1 drink (or sip), moving up the pyramid to increase the penalty per row (e.g., row 1 = 1 drink, row 5 = 5 drinks).
After the entire pyramid is flipped, every player counts how many cards they still have left in their hand.
The player with the most cards remaining must ride the bus. In a tie, compare highest card values or draw a high card from the deck to decide the loser.
Phase 3: Riding the Bus
The loser faces the final challenge to get off the bus.
The dealer lays out a sequence of face-down cards (usually a line of 4 to 10 cards, or another small pyramid).
The player must guess through the sequence (e.g., red/black, higher/lower, or matching the initial game style).
The catch: If they make a single incorrect guess, they must drink, restart from the very beginning of the bus line, and try again until they successfully navigate the entire sequence without a mistake.
